This is SodaStack
We build fast, independent websites for small businesses, non-profits and personal brands — with a developer on the other end of the line, and the analytics in your own hands so you can see whether it is working.
Who we are
SodaStack designs websites, builds them, hosts them, and stays reachable afterwards. That last part is the part most of the industry has quietly stopped doing.
What we build
Fast, mobile-first websites on WordPress, so the content stays yours. You are not renting space on a platform that owns your pages and keeps them if you leave.
Who we build for
Small businesses, non-profits and personal brands — the kind of organisation where the website is the front door, and where nobody on staff has minding it in their job description.
How it works
One subscription covers the build, the hosting and the support. Add packages as the business grows and it all lands on a single monthly bill.
What happens after launch
Hosting, SSL, daily backups, an uptime check and a monthly allowance of content updates are the ongoing part of the deal rather than an upsell — and the analytics sit on an account you own, so you can always see what the site is doing. Launch is where the relationship starts.
Why we do this
Most small businesses get offered one of two deals: a template builder that leaves you doing the work yourself, or an agency that disappears the week after launch and reappears with an invoice. Both are cheap to run, because neither one has to answer the phone.
A bad first impression is silent
Nobody emails to say they left. They just leave — and the business never finds out it happened, or what it cost.
The shortcut has a catch
Plenty of companies will tell you a chatbot can build your website in an afternoon. We are here for the part after that, when it did not work out the way it was promised.
Support is where it breaks
Building the site is the easy half. What decides whether it is still working in two years is whether anybody picks up when it is not.
The founder

SodaStack was founded by Kevin Lalka, a software engineer with 25 years in the industry. Most of that was spent on quality, automation and delivery at national consumer brands and enterprise security companies — platforms that had to keep working while people were actively buying things on them.
That is an unusual background to bring to a five-page website for a local business, and it is deliberate. The habits that stop a large platform falling over are the same ones that keep a small site fast, secure and up: know what changed, test it before it ships, and be reachable when it does not go to plan.
How we work

How we work
Design is a conversation, not an intake form
We sit down and go through your ideas out loud: what the business actually does, who it is for, what has gone wrong before. The plan comes out of that conversation, so it fits you rather than a template.

How we use AI
We use AI. We do not let it drive.
AI writes code here, and it is supervised. We plan the work, read what the agent produces, and correct it as it is generated. Nothing reaches your site that a person has not reviewed and understood. It is the delivery mechanism, not the relationship.
Talk to the people who would build it.
Tell us what the business does and what has gone wrong before. If the cheaper option is the right one, we will say so.
